Ale & Compass Restaurant: Breakfast

Do you have any Disney goals? Mine is to eat breakfast in every Disney resort. I’ve decided to make a breakfast series out of my journey to accomplish this goal. There are a few resort restaurants where I’ve eaten breakfast. Today, I’m going to focus on the Ale & Compass Restaurant in the Yacht Club Resort in the Epcot Resorts area.

One of the things that immediately impressed me about this restaurant was the beautiful seating area. The nautical theming of the restaurant was also done incredibly well. With Disney, people usually expect pops of color and vibrant imagery portraying our favorite characters to catch our eyes wherever we go. The small details and simple design give this restaurant a calm, classy feel.

Now, let’s discuss the food. What attracted me to visit this restaurant rather than countless others, was my curiosity for one of their entrees: the dark chocolate waffles.

I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was excited to try something that combined two of my favorite things: dark chocolate and waffles. You can pour syrup over the top of these waffles if you like. However, they already taste great on their own. The waffles have a dried cherry compote inside. On top of the waffles are an espresso-mascarpone cream and chocolate shavings. There are many great choices on the menu, for us chocolate lovers though, this is a clear choice!♥

Besides the dark chocolate waffles, my sister drank the all-natural lemonade with wild berry foam. I had the Agua Fresca Libation cocktail. The cocktail wasn’t the best but my sister strongly recommends the lemonade!

Even if you decide that this restaurant isn’t for you, I highly recommend visiting the yacht club resort and the adjacent resorts on the boardwalk. Honestly, all the experiences you can have on Disney’s Boardwalk deserve a post of their own. If you want a more low-key experience of visiting this restaurant or are just looking to have a drink, then check out the Ale & Compass lounge!
